Malibu : Design Chosen for City Seal

A design depicting the city’s most prominent features--mountains and ocean--was chosen as the official seal this week.
The seal was created by Ray Singer, 68, a Hughes Research Laboratories graphic designer. The City Council on Monday selected it for use on city stationery and all official documents.
Singer said the drawing reflects what he sees from the deck of his home.
“I see Point Dume and the hills coming down to the ocean,” said Singer, a Malibu resident for 15 years. “That’s always said Malibu to me.”
The design was one of six submitted for consideration by residents last fall.
Singer said he was “delighted to be able to give something to the city. I’m gratified it’s being used.”
The artist said he will work with a city committee on the colors to be used in the design.
