In nonconference softball:

Orange Coast 2, Cerritos 1--Becky Elcock doubled in Tami Dowlin and later scored on a sacrifice fly by Jill Bishop to give Orange Coast (4-2) all the runs it needed. Bishop pitched a two-hitter with five strike outs. Cerritos is 4-4.

Rancho Santiago 6, East Los Angeles 0--Freshman Jamie Parker pitched the first no-hitter in five years for Rancho Santiago (1-4). Parker struck out six and walked three, retiring the last 11 batters she faced. Teammate Lee Ann Morretino hit a run-scoring triple in the first inning.

Irvine Valley 7, USC Club Team 5--Denise Thomas went four for four with three runs batted in for Irvine Valley (2-4). Joelle Gonzalez pitched a one-hitter for the Lasers.

Long Beach City 4, Golden West 0--Nicki Kephart pitched a four-hit shutout, striking out five for Long Beach City (7-2-1). Golden West is 2-1.

In Orange Empire Conference men’s tennis:

Saddleback 9, Orange Coast 0--Nels Scylander, Saddleback’s No. 1 singles player, posted a victory and then teamed with Max Alvarez for a doubles victory to lead Saddleback (2-0, 1-0) to a sweep.
