Royal Reception: “Queen,†the six-hour miniseries about another branch of the Alex Haley family tree that began with “Roots,†scored big in the A.C. Nielsen ratings in its debut Sunday night on CBS. The network said Monday that an estimated 21.1 million households tuned in as the first two-hour segment won a 22.7 rating and a 35 share of the audience. “Queen†aired opposite the Warren Beatty-Madonna movie “Dick Tracy†on ABC and NBC’s special “Lucy and Desi: A Home Movie.†“Lucy†picked up a 14.1 rating and a 21 share, and “Dick Tracy†had an 8.9 rating and a 14 share. Each rating point represents about 931,000 households. “Queen,†with Halle Berry, continues tonight and concludes Thursday.
