WOMEN’S BASKETBALL : USC Is Upset by Oregon State

USC fell behind by nine points at halftime and was unable to catch Oregon State, losing to the Beavers, 64-59, Saturday night in a Pacific 10 Conference game at Corvallis, Ore.
Lisa Leslie led the No. 16-ranked Trojans (15-5 overall, 9-3 in the Pac-10) with 24 points. The Beavers are 12-8 and 6-5.
Oregon 89, UCLA 78--Debbie Sporcich had 27 points to lead the Ducks (7-13, 1-10) at Eugene, Ore. UCLA (10-10, 5-6) got 20 points and 11 rebounds from Natalie Williams.
Cal State Long Beach 59, San Jose State 58--Charon Johnson scored 19 points to lead the 49ers (6-13, 5-7) in a Big West Conference game at San Jose.
