Cal State Fee Increase

Why are Gov. Wilson and the California Legislature forcing college students to bear the burden of the state’s deficit by raising fees so exorbitantly?
During these times of financial hardship, has Wilson or the state legislators taken a reduction in their salaries or especially in their multiple and high pensions?
Most of us are not only taking classes full time but also are already working at jobs to put ourselves through college. We are attending university in order to improve our skills for today’s work force. We don’t want to end up on California’s welfare rolls. So why penalize us more?
I can understand a small raise in fees but Wilson and the Legislature are overdoing it.
