Stevin Smith scored 32 points and teammate Lester Neal added 20 as Arizona State scored 62 first-half points on its way to a 109-87 rout of Stanford in a Pacific 10 Conference game Saturday night at Tempe, Ariz.

Smith made eight of 12 three-point attempts and came within two points of his career high before leaving the game with 2:50 to play. Smith has made 27 of his last 50 three-point attempts, including a Pac-10 record 10 against Oregon last week.

Neal had 12 of his 20 during the first half and made eight of 10 shots. Tes Whitlock and Dwayne Fontana added 14 points each and Ron Riley had 13 for the Sun Devils.

The Sun Devils (12-5, 6-3) led by as many as 31 points during the second half and have now won four consecutive conference games for the first time since the 1986-87 season.

Freshman Dion Cross had 25 points to lead Stanford (6-15, 1-8), which has lost seven consecutive games.

Kenny Hicks had 20 points for the Cardinal and Marcus Lollie added 16.

The victory allowed Arizona State to remain in a second-place tie with Washington State and Oregon State in the conference race.

Oregon State 83, Oregon 75--Scott Haskin scored a season-high 32 points to help the Beavers end a three-game losing streak by defeating the Ducks at Corvallis, Ore.

Oregon (7-14, 0-9) lost its 18th consecutive conference game.

The Beavers (10-8, 6-3) led the entire game as Charles McKinney made four of five three-point attempts and scored 18 points. Mustapha Hoff added 10 points and a career-high 10 rebounds.

Haskin was 11 for 16 and scored six consecutive points during a second-half run by the Beavers.

Antoine Stoudamire scored 25 and Orlando Williams added 24 for Oregon.
