El Monte : Paramedic Backup Plan
The city of Arcadia has agreed to provide backup paramedic services to El Monte in a reciprocal arrangement approved by the El Monte City Council on Tuesday.
El Monte had been providing some fire protection services to a portion of Arcadia because El Monte’s Fire Station 24 is nearby.
Under the agreement, Arcadia’s paramedics will serve as backup when El Monte’s single paramedic unit is not available in the northwest portion of El Monte, north of the San Bernardino Freeway and east of Santa Anita Avenue.
Joint training exercises will be conducted periodically to maintain efficient coordination between the responding units.
