AND ONE MORE THING: Experiencing nostalgia for those long-gone days when Republicans were in the White House? If so, here comes “Living in Oblivion,†a collection of ‘80s new-wave hits being released in March by EMI Records. If you just can’t wait to get your hands on a collection bringing together the likes of Kajagoogoo’s “Too Shy,†Kim Wilde’s “Kids in America,†Toto Coelo’s “I Eat Cannibals†and other golden oldies from the days when MTV played this stuff because there wasn’t anything else with airable videos, this is the one for you.
Believe it or not, EMI Records director of marketing Bruce Harris says there are plenty of people eager to get their hands on this, which is why it’s being released.
“People I talk to who did come of age then are saying, ‘Yeah! That’s the music I grew up with,’ †he said. “And much of this isn’t available on CD, so this makes sense. There aren’t too many people who would want a Kajagoogoo album, but they want the song.â€
