COLLEGE ROUNDUP : Titans Beat San Jose State in Women’s Basketball

Anna Abramova scored 25 points and had 14 rebounds to help Cal State Fullerton to an 88-66 victory over San Jose State in a Big West Conference women’s basketball game Thursday at Fullerton.
Allison Jackson added 19 points for Fullerton (4-10, 2-6)). The Titans made 28 of 38 free throws. Shayla Bradshaw had 12 rebounds for the Titans.
Hulett Brooks led San Jose (3-12, 2-5) with 18 points and 10 rebounds.
In another Big West Conference women’s game:
Pacific 74, UC Irvine 58--Jinelle Williams and Yvonne Catala scored 16 and 14 points, respectively, for UC Irvine (1-15, 0-8). Catala led the Anteaters with 15 rebounds.
Annette Dirac, who hit one of three three-point shots for Pacific (11-4, 4-3), scored 20 points. UC Irvine shot 39% from the field compared to Pacific’s 50%.
In nonconference women’s basketball:
Christ College Irvine 74, UC San Diego 48--Stacy Kirch had 20 points and Gitte Mejer had 16 for visiting Christ College Irvine (18-4), which won its ninth consecutive game.
In nonconference men’s basketball:
Southern California College 119, Life Bible 64--Jeff Reeves and Matt de la Pena each scored 22 points for the host Vanguards (13-8). Jason McClain added nine points and 13 rebounds, while Tony Hyner had 14 points and 11 rebounds.
