LOS ALAMITOS : City Hires Consultant for Traffic Projects
The City Council has hired an engineering consultant to design eight traffic-related projects to be submitted to the Orange County Transportation Authority for possible funding.
BSI Consultants Inc. will be paid $61,027 for the designs and other engineering services. The $1.8 million in proposed projects are part of the city’s seven-year capital improvement program that ends in the year 2000.
Public Works Director Jerry Andersen said the designs have to be submitted to the OCTA before Feb. 28 to qualify for funding.
The projects include pavement improvements on three city streets, traffic signal modifications on three other streets and widening of Cerritos Avenue at the intersection with Los Alamitos Boulevard.
