SIMI VALLEY : Officials to Hold Special Session

The Simi Valley school board and the district’s personnel commission will hold a special public meeting tonight to discuss ways to boost employee morale at a time when the district is suffering sharp cuts in state funding.
The Simi Valley Unified School District Board of Education and the three-member personnel commission will meet at 6 p.m. at the home of board President Judy Barry, 2329 Fernview St. The session is expected to last about an hour.
Barry said the meeting, which in the past has been held at the district offices on Cochran Street, is scheduled at her house so officials could meet in an informal setting.
In addition to discussing strategies for improving employee morale, the meeting was set up to give personnel commissioners and school board members a chance to meet each other, Barry said.
