San Gabriel : Traffic Study Approved
The City Council on Tuesday approved an $18,000 contract to study traffic congestion near the San Gabriel Commercial Center at Del Mar Avenue and Valley Boulevard.
Willdan Associates of City of Industry will survey traffic for about a month, starting this weekend, Deputy City Administrator John E. Nowak said. An analysis of the data is expected three to four weeks later.
The study and any recommended improvements will be paid for by Tawa 99, the management company for the center, under an agreement with the city when the development was approved in 1990.
In other business, the council announced that a public forum on the city’s economic future will take place at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at San Gabriel Adult Center, 324 S. Mission Drive.
Residents wishing to attend should contact Deputy City Administrator John E. Nowak at (8l8) 308-2808.
Topics will include increased demand for city services, types of businesses the city should try to attract and places in the city best suited to economic development.
