Conducting Posts: The Israel Philharmonic Orchestra has named Mandy Rodan co-conductor with musical director Zubin Mehta. Rodan, 64, has led a number of Israeli orchestras and the National Belgian Orchestra. . . . And the Syracuse Symphony Orchestra on Thursday named its Brazilian-born associate conductor, Fabio Mechetti, 35, to replace Kazuyoshi Akiyama as music director. Akiyama, whose contract expires Sept. 1 after eight seasons, was named the symphony’s first conductor emeritus.
