SAN PEDRO : L.A. to Seek Grant for Cabrillo Museum

The Los Angeles City Council agreed Tuesday to seek a $112,500 federal grant for staffing and programs at the Cabrillo Marine Museum in San Pedro.
The request was sent to the Institute of Museum Services, a federal agency that provides funding for basic museum services and operations. The two-year grant, if awarded, would be the seventh to go to the museum, whose director hopes to expand educational programs for schools and fill two long-frozen staff positions.
