America West Creditor Says Carrier Can’t Reorganize: An attorney for one of America West Airlines Inc.’s largest creditors told a federal bankruptcy judge that the carrier’s financial problems are terminal. In filing a motion with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court in Phoenix, Dallas attorney Robin Phelan, representing a division of General Electric Capital Corp., said that the airline continues to lose money and has no realistic prospects for reorganization. The statement follows months of shoestring financing arrangements and lackluster performance by the Phoenix-based airline.
