SPECIAL TO THE TIMES

The Times’ 1992 All-Westside football team may be one of the most versatile in years.

Of the 23 players named to the first team, 17 were starters on offense and defense.

At least one player from each of the 14 Westside schools was selected. Westchester and Culver City had three players named to the team.

The players selected to the All-Westside team were selected by Times sportswriters based on nominations received from area coaches, all of whom were asked to participate.

The Comets, who won the Western League championship, were represented by quarterback Seka Edwards, receiver Richard Bowden and offensive lineman Brian Collins.

The Centaurs, who shared the Ocean League championship with Morningside, were represented by offensive lineman Ulises Regalado, defensive lineman Dominic Quant and linebacker Jona Sami.
