A highly recruited Dallas high school football player was pronounced brain dead Wednesday after being shot once in the head during an argument over a girl, family and police said.
Byron Norton, 18, a defensive back at Kimball High who friends said had planned to attend Baylor next year, was pronounced clinically dead at 3:30 p.m., said his cousin Samantha Blaylock.
