Obituaries : Holly Keuthan; Dana Point Child Had Long Fight With Bone Cancer
Holly Keuthan, 7, whose dramatic two-year physical, emotional and financial battle against bone cancer was featured in a series in The Times’ View section last December. Her parents, Jan and Karen Keuthan of Dana Point, took her off life-support machines after learning that the disease had attacked her liver and that there was bleeding in her lungs. Her illness was diagnosed as Ewing’s sarcoma in January, 1991, about six months after she began complaining of chronic pain in her chest. By that time, the the cancer had already spread to a leg.
