California IN BRIEF : CALEXICO : Hospital May Close for Upgrading

Calexico Hospital is expected to close temporarily in January in an attempt to bring the facility into compliance with state and federal health care guidelines. Hospital officials said the facility could be closed anywhere from two months to a year. Most of the hospital’s staff of about 70 probably would be laid off, hospital administrator Robert Trautman said.
