Disparity in Justice System

Twenty-year-old Christopher Nagano is charged with arson. He may not be guilty. Yet he was held in jail unable to raise the half-million dollars in bail money. He was forced to appear in court in prison pajamas and shackles.

In Detroit, two cops are charged with murder in the beating death of a man. There is no doubt they committed the bloody deed. But they stand in court in their own clothes and are released on personal bond of only $100,000.

Does this make it seem that cops are a privileged class? Is there a double standard in our justice system?
