Fax Me That List of Who’s Been Nice
NORTH POLE, Alaska — This village touting itself as the home of Santa Claus has been deluged with Christmas gift requests by a new kind of medium--the fax.
Larry White, a village council member and trophy shop owner in this suburb of Fairbanks, set up the line and put out word that Santa’s fax number was (907) 488-HOHO, leading to a flood of messages.
By Monday, they had received more than 6,300 faxes addressed to Santa Claus.
Each child who faxes a wish list to Santa gets a postcard reply asking the child to do one good deed during the holiday season “to help out those who are less fortunate.â€
