In the Downtown Kiwanis boys’ basketball tournament:
Century 53, Calvary Chapel 35--Thomas Harmon scored 13 points and David Hesterly added 10 for Century (3-1) in a championship semifinal. Chase Lubbock scored 10 points for Calvary Chapel.
Laguna Beach 47, Bolsa Grande 35--Corey French scored 15 points and Taylor Butcher had 14 to lead Laguna Beach (4-0).
In the El Dorado Co-Ed tournament:
El Dorado 95, Pomona JV 52--Andy Hinkle and Jeff Moore each had 16 points to lead El Dorado past visiting Pomona JV.
Pomona 78, Sunny Hills 61--Mario Bertuol scored 24 points and Arash Garand had 17 points and four three pointers for Sunny Hills. Sunny Hills plays El Dorado Saturday at 4:30 p.m. for third place. Pomona plays Long Beach Jordan for the championship at 7:30 p.m.
In the Cerritos Valley Christian boys’ basketball tournament:
Loara 60, Whittier Christian 51--Scott Davis had 22 points and Jeff Gaudio added 15 for Loara (2-3). Jeff Rutter had 18 points for Whittier Christian.
In the Hesperia Christian tournament semifinals:
Liberty Christian 55, Rio Hondo Prep 46--Toby Curto scored 19 points for Liberty Christian (5-2), which advanced to tonight’s 7:30 p.m. final.
In the Glendora tournament:
Chino 65, Brea-Olinda 49--Wayne Spurlock had 11 points in Brea-Olinda’s (3-4) loss to Chino.
In nonleague boys’ basketball:
Buena Park 52, Santa Ana Valley 48--Alex Tolentino had 24 points for host Buena Park (4-1). Santa Ana Valley is 2-3.
Canyon 80, Orange Lutheran 61--Tony Pappas had 26 points and 18 rebounds and John Werhas had 26 points for visiting Canyon (5-1). Jeff Courvoisier had 21 points including three three-pointers for Orange Lutheran (3-1).
Santa Ana 71, La Habra 63--Fred Mora had 29 points for host Santa Ana (1-1). Ken Cauley had 17 for La Habra.
Western 59, Troy 47--Frank Floyd had 26 points and 11 rebounds to lead Western (5-1). Mark Stenner had 20 points for Troy (3-2).
In nonleague boys’ basketball:
St. Margaret’s 56, Flintridge 39--Damian Raibon had 23 points to lead St. Margaret’s past host Flintridge (2-4).
