Story Caught the Spirit

Many thanks to your reporter Richard Lee Colvin for the nice article (“Middle-Class Island,” Nov. 15). Many of us think that he caught the spirit of community that is encouraged in our complex.
It might be observed that some of our board members are Community Assns. Institute-trained, and the homeowners frequently attend meetings and seminars conducted by that group. We have several committees which are vigilant about maintenance. It is only through the efforts of these committee people as well as the cooperation of the homeowners that our property values are kept high.
The Griffin Glenoaks community could well serve other homeowner associations as a model, and we would encourage their inquiry.
