Check It Out: KTTV Channel 11 will look at the latest underground trends among L.A.’s inner-city youth on two coming half-hour news reports. The first, Saturday at 7:30 p.m., investigates the growing phenomenon of roving parties that are organized in different, secret locations each weekend. The second, Dec. 12 at the same time, explores the graffiti subculture, the sometimes deadly battles over turf and the enormous clean-up costs to taxpayers. Jose Rios, Channel 11’s news director, says the reports are an effort toward understanding the plight and challenges facing young people in this city.
