Federal prosecutors announced Wednesday that 16 men who carried business cards with the word “ROB†have been charged with racketeering for allegedly running a carjacking ring in New York and New Jersey.

The men were accused of stealing more than 50 luxury cars at gunpoint and bribing customs and immigration officials to let them drive the autos over the Texas-Mexico border.

The group mainly targeted Mercedes Benz, Porsche, BMW, Lexus and Infiniti models, officials said. The cars were to be sold in Mexico, Guatemala and other Central American locations.
