Coach Mike Holmgren had a play called, but quarterback Brett Favre had other ideas.

Favre’s preferred play turned into a game-winning, nine-yard touchdown pass to Jackie Harris in the fourth quarter Sunday, giving the Green Bay Packers a 19-14 victory over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

“I’m glad I went with his suggestion,†Holmgren said. “I called a play, but he wanted to try the play-action to Jackie.

“He was confident it would work, so I told him to go with it.â€

Favre rolled out and threw the touchdown pass to Harris on a third and six from the Buccaneers’ nine-yard line with 10:09 left, and the Packers (6-6) won their third in a row and for the fourth time in five games.

“The playoffs are still a dream away,†Jacke said. “We’ve still got to win four or at least three out of four. All the factors will have to come together.â€

Green Bay’s Sterling Sharpe, the NFL’s leading receiver, had nine catches, giving him 363 for his career--the most ever in a player’s first five years.

Vinny Testaverde completed 12 of 22 passes for 172 yards and two touchdowns, but he also threw three interceptions and the Buccaneers also lost two fumbles.
