OUTLOOK
The Knights are going to run and shoot just as fast as they can under Bradarich, their first-year coach. “Our defensive philosophy is to get it done on defense and shoot it within five seconds,†Bradarich said. That’s just fine with Winger, who averaged 18.8 points last season under a less rambunctious offensive style. “Jared is much, much improved from even the summer,†Bradarich said. “He’s playing more under control and has added a nice driving game. I’m looking forward to a big year from him.†Provided, that is, teams aren’t able to key on him. Bradarich is still searching for someone to complement Winger in the backcourt. Jordan might be the one, but he played baseball, not basketball, during the summer. “Right now we have five guards who have some ability, but no one has stepped forward,†Bradarich said. The Knights have some size, but it is untested. Winger was the team’s leading rebounder, hardly the job for a shooting guard. One bright spot might be Hay, who played on the junior varsity as a freshman but sat out the last two seasons. “They say he can play above the rim,†Bradarich said. “I hope so, but we’ll see.â€
