World Response to Somalia
The U.N., the Arab League, the former Soviet Union who armed Somalia to its teeth before 1978--and the United States after that--are all to be blamed for the madness of this Godforsaken land.
But equally to be blamed are the media whose anachronistic paradigm have not changed about event reporting. (More) Somalians die every month than the total death toll of Serbs and Croatians in Yugoslavia for a year. Ironically, we know more about the Yugoslavian ethnocentrism than we know about Somalia’s similar case. Don’t get me wrong. My heart goes out for those children in Yugoslavia, but how about the children in Somalia?
