SOUTHERN SECTION FOOTBALL PLAYOFFS : Mater Dei Gets Home-Field Advantage Against Eisenhower

Mater Dei won a coin toss and will play host to Rialto Eisenhower Friday night at Santa Ana Stadium in the second round of the Southern Section Division I football playoffs.

The game will be a rematch of last year’s Division I championship game in which the Monarchs upset the nation’s top-ranked team, 35-14, in front of 33,204 at Anaheim Stadium.

Top-seeded Los Alamitos will travel to Huntington Beach High to meet unseeded Fountain Valley in the second round of Division II play. The teams met in the second week of the season with Los Alamitos winning, 24-7.
