San Gabriel Student Gets Leadership Award

Ronald Taw of El Monte, who attends San Gabriel High School, is one of five outstanding students from Southern California to receive the Asian Pacific Youth Leadership awards.
Taw was honored for academic excellence, leadership skills and community involvement. He received $1,000 in cash toward his college education and a $500 donation was awarded to the community-based organization of his choice, the West San Gabriel chapter of the American Red Cross.
Taw is a past president of the chapter’s youth group and also volunteers at Good Samaritan Hospital.
The awards are sponsored by the McDonald’s Operators Assn. of Southern California and multilingual television station KSCI-TV.
