Boy Playing With Gun Kills Friend, 14
A 14-year-old Palmdale boy was accidentally killed by a teen-age friend playing with a stolen gun, authorities said Saturday.
Deon Jonathan Taylor died Saturday evening of a single gunshot wound to the head fired by a 15-year-old friend, said Los Angeles Sheriff’s Deputy Benita Hinojos.
Taylor, the 15-year-old and another youth were playing in Taylor’s house in the 4000 block of East Avenue R-6 with a stolen revolver when the incident occurred, she said.
Hinojos said the two boys were not arrested in connection with Taylor’s death because the shooting was accidental. But she said they were being questioned about the stolen gun. Hinojos did not know when the gun was stolen or where it came from.
