Four public works improvement projects, costing $842,000, were approved unanimously by the City Council last week.
Projects include repair work on streets, wheelchair ramps, curbs, gutters and sidewalks.
Funding for the asphalt overlaying of streets will be subsidized by the state, city engineer Alphonso Rodriguez said. City staff has received a State-Local Transportation Partnership Program subsidy that provided 50% of the funding for the $307,000 construction cost, or $153,000.
Proposition C funds will cover much of the costs of the other projects. The city’s share will be about $146,000, officials said.
