Target Shooters Discover Body of Woman in Antelope Valley
Four target shooters on an afternoon hike discovered the body of a nude woman in a remote area of the Antelope Valley, Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputies said Sunday.
The young woman was found at about 5 p.m. Saturday, Sgt. Gus Risinger said. The body was lying on a dirt road next to a wash on 110th Street East north of Avenue O in Palmdale, he said. Homicide detectives spent Sunday morning investigating at the site.
The advanced stage of decomposition of the body made it impossible to determine her age, race and cause of death, said Deputy Victoria Berenbau of the Sheriff’s Information Bureau. She said a county medical examiner will conduct an autopsy.
