Paul William Walter, 85, who worked for former U.S. Sen. Robert A. Taft and contributed to the union-limiting Taft-Hartley Act. Walter steered the northern Ohio senatorial campaigns for Taft in 1938, 1944 and 1950, and helped secure delegates for Taft’s unsuccessful 1952 GOP presidential campaign.
