The Rev. Norman Redeker; Lutheran Pastor

The Rev. Norman Redeker, pastor of Trinity Lutheran Church in Reseda, has died at his Canoga Park home. He was 57.
Redeker died Saturday of a heart attack, said his daughter Chari Murphy of Geyserville, Calif.
Born in Woodworth, Ill., Redeker attended Concordia Junior College in Fort Wayne, Ind., and completed his religious studies at Concordia Seminary in St. Louis. He served congregations in Illinois and Montana before coming to California in 1967 to serve in the northern part of the state. Redeker later was interim pastor for a congregation in Honolulu until he came to 250-member Trinity Lutheran Church, which is affiliated with the Missouri Synod, in August, 1990.
In addition to his daughter, Redeker is survived by his son Paul Redeker of Saipan; brother Bernell Redeker of Milford, Ill.; and three grandchildren.
A funeral is scheduled for 11 a.m. today at Trinity Lutheran Church, 18425 Kittridge St., Reseda. Burial will be on Sunday at St. Paul’s Lutheran Cemetery in Milford. J. T. Oswald Mortuary in Reseda is handling the arrangements. Donations can be made in Redeker’s name to Trinity Lutheran Church.
