Deadline Nears for Continental Bidders: The bidding war for bankrupt Continental Airlines is scheduled to come to an end today, when a court-imposed deadline for formal buyout offers expires. Despite the carrier’s history of financial problems--this is its second trip through Chapter 11 in seven years--Continental has an extensive route structure and $3.5 billion in assets on its balance sheet.
