Marilyn Elizabeth Beebe; Co-Hosted TV Music Shows
Marilyn Elizabeth Beebe, 66, who with her late husband, Al Jarvis, was co-host of the “Make-Believe Ballroom†and “Let’s Dance†shows in the early days of Los Angeles television. Mrs. Beebe, who married Paul Beebe in 1988, 18 years after Jarvis’ death, sang on the shows, which featured top musical hits of the day and dancers competing for prizes. Jarvis, who went on the radio in 1932, was one of the first of the nation’s disc jockeys to mix commentary with recorded music. On Sunday in Newport Beach of an apparent heart attack.
