9 Hospitalized After Crash; 7 Are Teens
HUNTINGTON BEACH — A carload of teen-agers were injured in an accident Friday night that sent nine people to area hospitals.
The accident occurred at 8:12 p.m. at Indianapolis Avenue and Magnolia Street, said Fire Battalion Chief Mick Terich.
Seven teen-agers--five 16-year-olds and two 14-year-olds--were in one car when it collided with a car occupied by a man and a woman.
Four ambulances, two paramedics and two fire engines were sent to the accident scene. All occupants in both cars were hurt, Terich said.
One trauma victim was rushed to UCI Medical Center in Orange while others were sent to Hoag Hospital in Newport Beach, Humana Hospital-Huntington Beach and Pacifica Community Hospital in Huntington Beach.
