Review Pay of Executives
I support the idea of an independent review of the compensation package provided to the county’s executives. The review should also give some recognition to the time invested by these individuals. I suspect you’ll find theirs is not a normal 9-to-5, 40-hour workweek.
To attract and retain a qualified work force you have to compete in a market where the benefit packages are substantially more innovative and lucrative than what the county is offering. Minimizing the compensation will only attract those individuals with the minimum requirements, in an environment where we need the maximum capabilities under today’s challenges.
