Perry Klein, a reserve quarterback at California, has left the football team, Cal Coach Keith Gilbertson said. Klein, who played behind Dave Barr, told the campus newspaper, the Daily Californian: “I wasn’t in control and I had to take control. I don’t want to blame anybody. It was something I had to do.” Klein played football at Carson and Palisades high schools.
