CAIRO — The United States has given Egypt $33 million to help rebuild infrastructure damaged in last week’s earthquake, the U.S. Embassy said Tuesday.
Egypt has received aid pledges for more than $230 million since the earthquake, which killed at least 552 people.
The embassy statement said $30 million will go mainly to health and education ministries to rebuild facilities damaged in the quake and $3 million to repair Islamic monuments and other antiquities.
