A FORUM FOR COMMUNITY ISSUES : Getting Answers : Encampments by Freeways: ‘Frightening’

First, my compliments to Caltrans for the good job they’ve done on erasing graffiti along the freeways. But now there are also encampments of homeless people, mostly men, who seem to be living under the freeway overpasses--I notice this especially on the Hollywood Freeway near downtown.

There’s a lot of trash generated near these encampments and it never seems to be picked up.

The combination of people so close to the road and the blowing trash is both frightening and distracting. How can I report this and who would be responsible for dealing with the problem?
