BY THE NUMBERS: Huntington Beach is a distant third in population in Orange County, yet it’s close to first in registered voters. County figures released Tuesday show Huntington Beach at 106,190 registered, just shy of Anaheim’s 108,321--even though Anaheim has nearly 100,000 more residents. The county’s biggest city, Santa Ana, population 300,000-plus, is a distant third in registration, at 72,849. . . . But Newport Beach may have the most bragging rights--69% of its population is registered to vote, highest in the county.
