Lincoln 34, Verdugo Hills 8--The Dons committed five turnovers and dropped a Northern League opener to the Tigers (4-0) before a homecoming crowd at Verdugo Hills.
The Dons (0-3) trailed, 28-0, when Greg Martin scored on a one-yard run to avert a shutout.
Defensive back Eddie Powell intercepted three passes for the Dons.
