Gullikson, Fleming Win

Tom Gullikson and Peter Fleming advanced to today’s 2 p.m. final of the Tennis Classics tournament at the La Jolla Beach & Tennis Club.

Gullikson defeated Bob Lutz, 6-3, 6-1. Fleming advanced with a 6-1, 6-2 victory over Tim Gullikson. The Gulliksons will face Lutz and Ross Case in the doubles championship.

GOLF

The University of San Diego finished 12th at the Ninth New Mexico State/Coca-Cola Classic with a three-round total of 928 at the par-72, 7,040-yard University Golf Course in Las Cruces.

WOMEN’S VOLLEYBALL

Terilyn Walker and Roberta Smith combined for 31 kills as Point Loma Nazarene defeated Christ College Irvine, 13-15, 15-9, 15-6, 15-4, in a Golden State Athletic Conference match at Golden Gym. Smith also had three solo blocks for the Crusaders (10-4, 4-1). CCI fell to 2-12, 0-3.

MEN’S SOCCER

Socrates Scatolini was PLNC’s lone scorer as the Crusaders fell to Fresno Pacific, 4-1, in a GSAC game at FPU (7-2, 2-0). Scatolini’s unassisted goal at 60:00 pulled PLNC (3-3, 0-2) to 3-1.
