CIRCUS: The Los Angeles Foundation for the Circus Arts will hold a neighborhood performance with clowns, magic, dancing and music today at 1 and 3 p.m. Kids can try juggling, pantomime and balancing at circus skills workshops running from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Los Angeles Photography Center, 412 S. Parkview St., near 3rd and Alvarado streets. Donation $3.
THOUGHT FOR FOOD: The Long Beach Unified School Board will consider a $7.6 million plan for a new central kitchen to replace an out-of-date facility. The meeting is 7 p.m., Monday, in the board room at 701 Locust Ave., Long Beach.
SUPERVISORIAL CANDIDATES: The candidates for Los Angeles County’s 2nd Supervisorial District seat, state Sen. Diane Watson and Yvonne Brathwaite Burke, will participate in a forum at 6 p.m. Wednesday at Holman United Methodist Church, 3320 W. Adams Blvd., Los Angeles.
INDIAN CELEBRATION: Iron Circle Nation will sponsor the Many Winters Gathering of the Elders to foster understanding of traditional American Indian beliefs. The event will be from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday through next Sunday at Angels Gate Cultural Center, 3601 S. Gaffey St. in San Pedro.
MEMORIAL SERVICE: Los Angeles City firefighters and paramedics will pay tribute to colleagues who have died in the line of duty at a memorial service, 10 a.m. Thursday at the Fire Department Cenotaph, south lawn of City Hall.
