SAN DIEGO : Suspect in August Murder Arrested

San Diego police homicide detectives have arrested an unemployed Chula Vista man in connection with an August murder in the South Bay.
Jesus Jesse Bustamante, 31, a day laborer, is a suspect in the Aug. 15 slaying of Kevin Brian Schaum, 29, of Chula Vista, a police spokesman said. Schaum was found shot to death outside his girlfriend’s home in the 2600 block of Wardlow Avenue. Schaum, who died of a head wound, was found slumped over the steering wheel of his car.
Immediately after the shooting, neighbors reported seeing several cars leaving the scene.
Bustamante was arrested late Friday in the 700 block of Broadway in Chula Vista as he was walking on the sidewalk, Police Lt. Tom Orden said.
