OUTLOOK
The bad news for the Knights is that they haven’t made the playoffs since 1988 when they advanced for the second consecutive season and only the fourth in school history. Good news is that this team has the potential to be better than either the ’88 or ’87 teams, according to Anderson. “It looks like it could be our best,†he said. “We have almost our entire offensive line back. (And) we have more skill people on the offensive side of the ball. We’re not having to drive the ball 60 or 70 yards without making a mistake to score. You know, three or four yards and a cloud of dust. . . .†A return to the playoffs is his top priority, but finishing higher than third would appear to be out of the question. Anderson hopes the Knights can go 7-3 and knock off either Esperanza or Los Alamitos. “Both are going to be excellent,†Anderson said. “I’m leaning toward Esperanza. Los Alamitos thought they were a year away last year. That ought to tell you something.â€
