RESTAURANTS IN REVIEW

I ate at Schatzi’s a few days before Ruth Reichl’s review (“Nice Is Not Enough,” July 26). Unlike Reichl, I found the food wonderful, sensibly priced and generously served. The wine list was good, the service excellent, August Spier’s congeniality refreshing and the restaurant itself immaculate and beautiful.
Reichl mentioned seven entrees that she found very palatable. That’s more than half the entrees on the menu. There’s nothing “interstate” at Schatzi’s. It’s Park Avenue all the way.
