ANAHEIM — A 60-year-old motorist was shot early Friday morning as he was driving on the Riverside Freeway, but he did not sustain serious injuries, police said.
The driver, who was not identified, was heading east on the freeway at 1:30 a.m. when he was shot by an unidentified assailant in a passing van, said Anaheim Police Sgt. Richard Buchholz. The victim drove to a gas station off the freeway at Weir Canyon Road and called police, Buchholz said.
Police do not know why the shooting occurred and do not have any suspects, he added.
The victim was treated at Western Medical Center-Santa Ana.
